چکیده
This paper presents the mixed mode I/II stress intensity factors (SIFs) of slanted cracks/notches under tension loading. A two-dimensional finite element analysis (FEA) was employed using ABAQUS program. Based on literature survey, there is a lack solutions for SIFs cracks in plane plates. The strain energy approach (SEA) adopted to analyze notched cases. Mode I and II are derived via SEA method from computed FEA technique. results show excellent agreement with other researchers' work. key contribution present presentation effect crack/notch length plate width ratio slant-edge-cracked/notched different boundary conditions. Sets new data provided herein tabular graphical formats.

Photoelastic Determination of Mixed Mode Stress Intensity Factors
A two dimensional finite model with inclined crack at different crack angles are being analyzed in mixed mode condition using photo elasticity method for the determination of Stress Intensity Factors. The well-known Sih’s equation and three points deterministic approach is used for the determination of stress intensity factors. The effects of biaxial load factor, crack angle, size factors were ...
متن کاملAnalytical Solution for Stress Field and Intensity Factor in CSTBD under Mixed Mode Conditions
Considering the fact that rocks fail faster under tensile stress, rock tensile strength is of greatimportance in applications such as blasting, rock fragmentation, slope stability, hydraulic fracturing, caprock integrity, and geothermal energy extraction. There are two direct and indirect methods tomeasure tensile strength. Since direct methods always encompass difficulties in test setup, indire...
متن کاملMixed-Mode Stress Intensity Factors for Surface Cracks in Functionally Graded Materials Using Enriched Finite Elements
Three-dimensional enriched finite elements are used to compute mixed-mode stress intensity factors (SIFs) for three-dimensional cracks in elastic functionally graded materials (FGMs) that are subject to general mixed-mode loading. The method, which advantageously does not require special mesh configuration/modifications and post-processing of finite element results, is an enhancement of previou...

In this paper, the interface crack of two non-homogenous functionally graded materials is studied. Subsequently, with employing the displacement method for fracture of mixed-mode stress intensity factors, the continuous variation of material properties are calculated. In this investigation, the displacements are derived with employing of the functional graded material programming and analysis o...
